Man seriously injured after assault - St Ives

Police are investigating an assault in St Ives which left a man with serious facial injuries.
The incident happened outside The Castle in Fore Street between 1am and 1.15am on Friday 14 January.
A man was punched in the face by another man following an argument. The victim, a man in his 30s from London, was knocked to the ground during the assault.
He was taken to hospital and treated for a fractured cheekbone and a cut to his head.
A 20-year-old man from St Ives has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Police are investigating the assault and appealing for any witnesses to contact them. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage.
