Public urged to remain vigilant following reports of phone scams

Calls have been made to two members of the public from a withheld number by a male stating he was a police officer.

The male knew the name of each caller and stated to both of them that they had a relative in custody at a nearby police station. 

Fortunately both members of the public asked further questions and the calls were terminated.
