Appeal for taxi driver witness to come forward
Police investigating a report of robbery and assault in Plymouth have issued an appeal to find a taxi driver who witnessed the incidents.
They happened near Eggbuckland Road, in the Efford area of the city, between 4am and 4.30am on Sunday 19 September.
Two sets of passengers, who were not known to each other, were travelling in a black-coloured taxi when they became involved in a dispute with each other over payment.
It was reported that a man aged in his 50s was grabbed and had his iPhone taken off him.
When the victim and his friends subsequently exited the vehicle, a woman in the party, aged in her 20s, was pushed to the ground.
The male suspect then got back into the taxi and left the area.
Police are appealing for the driver of the vehicle to come forward as it is believed they would have witnessed the incidents.
