Premises Closure Notice

Alert message sent 24/08/2020 14:57:00

Information sent on behalf of Devon and Cornwall Police

Two applications for premises closure notices have last Friday been granted at Truro Magistrates in relation to addresses in the Bodmin area.
These premises are now closed under Section 80 of the 'Anti- Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act' and is a consequence of repeated reports of anti-social behaviour.
The application for these orders were made this week and follows a considerable amount of work by officers on the Bodmin Neighbourhood team, the Force’s legal department, Cornwall Council’s Anti-social behaviour Team and Cornwall Housing.
These premises will now face these conditions for a period of three months and anyone found to have breached these notices will be liable to arrest and prosecution.
Sergeant Sue Honeywill said “The two properties closed down today were causing significant issues for local residents and the community. Devon and Cornwall Police in conjunction with our partner agencies have worked hard to secure the full closure of these properties, after a period of drug related and anti-social incidents relating to the surrounding area, properties and the tenants.
This sends a clear message that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and we will take positive action where necessary. The police wish to thank those who continue to work with us to address this type of behaviour.”
