Dear Resident,
The Keyham Community Policing Team (KCPT) continue to work hard to support the communities of Keyham and Ford.
It is great to see that reported crime and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) remains low in the area - neighbourhood acquisitive crimes such as house burglaries, street robberies, and theft from motor vehicles are extremely rare, in fact, Keyham has suffered no burglaries or robberies at all this year, just a few theft from motor vehicles in the Moor View area early May where insecure vehicles were entered and property stolen. Please continue to secure you vehicles and homes! And please let us know if you have any information about crime or ASB developing, particularly as we soon enter the summer period.
In April the courts ordered the closure of a problem flat in North Down Crescent. This came after years of suffering for residents in the area who were subject to repeated Anti-Social Behaviour. This Closure Order is testament to the residents determination and their support of the KCPT and Plymouth Community Homes.
This month, the KCPT have responded swiftly and robustly to the Arson attack on the play equipment at North Down Crescent which occurred in the early hours of Friday 19 May and sadly caused significant damage. Enquiries identified a 19 year old local man as the suspect and the KCPT arrested him early on Tuesday 23 May where he assisted officers before being released on bail whilst the investigation continues. if you have any information about this at all, please do contact us.
Over the coming months you will continue to see the KCPT on patrol in Keyham and Ford, and in attendance at school, community groups and community events. If you are planning any community events this spring or summer please let us know and we will come along and say hello!
As always, if you have any concerns about Crime, ASB or any vulnerable people in your area, please contact us on keyhamcommunitypolicingteam@dc.police.uk
