Police officers investigating a road traffic collision in Barnstaple on Saturday 28 January, which involved a car and pedestrians have located and seized a car in relation to the incident. It follows an appeal issued on Sunday 29 January, but officers are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward. At approximately 11.30pm, a car failed to stop for police and drove off down Well Street and into Boutport Street. As the vehicle turned the corner, it collided with pedestrians. Three people, two women in their 20s and a man in his 30s, were taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life changing. Enquiries are continuing to locate the occupants of the car. Devon and Cornwall Police has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office of Police Conduct [IOPC] following a road traffic collision involving a car after police contact in Barnstaple.
