Crime alert

We have recently had reports to us for theft of motor vehicles around popular surfing spots in Newquay. We urgently advise anyone going for a surf to make sure their car key is in a safe place.

We would recommend getting a plastic key cut or leaving the key in a safe box.

If you are using a safe key box please make sure it is attached to a secure part of your vehicle where it can’t easily be snapped off.

We would also recommend not to leave any valuables in the car when unattended.

Most recently a vehicle was stolen on Esplanade Road in Newquay on Friday 20/01/2023 between 11:00-13:15HRS. The vehicle, a black Audi A4 was later recovered on Riverside Crescent. We would be interested to know if anyone got CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the incident.

Newquay Neighbourhood officers are currently undertaking high visibility and plain-clothes patrols around local surf spots.

If you see anyone acting suspiciously please call 999. #50230015461
