Serious collision, Newquay


Police are seeking witnesses to a serious collision in Newquay which left three people injured, one seriously.

Emergency services were called at 2.35am today, 30 September, after the collision involving a black Renault Twingo on the A3059 at the junction with Rialton Road.

The car came to rest on its roof in a field.

The driver, a man in his 20s from Plymouth, was trapped in the vehicle and extracted by the fire service. He sustained serious chest and back injuries and was taken to Treliske Hospital.

Two male passengers sustained minor injuries and were also taken to hospital.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended and the road was closed until 11am today to allow for investigation work and recovery of the car.

Police are investigating and appealing for any witnesses to contact them. They would also like to hear from any motorist with relevant dashcam footage.
