As part Op Septre Penzance neighbourhood team investigated a crime involving a male who shoplifted from a Local Co-Op Store and whilst present in the store dropped a knife. 

Matthew Christopher BRAY which was dealt with at Bodmin Magistrates Court on 7 June 2025, result as follows:

Theft from shop – Suspended sentence order 6 weeks concurrent suspended for 12 months, Compensation £12 awarded, Costs £85, Surcharge £154

Possess knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place – Suspended sentence order – 18 weeks imprisonment suspended for 12 months.

Shoplifting and knife crime in Penzance WILL NOT be tolerated.
