Be Aware:  There has been an increase in residential burglaries in the Launceston area.  These have taken place when the homes have been empty and secure.

Please be vigilant for any unusual behaviour.  Entry has been gained by forcing entry which would have made some noise, so if you hear anything unusual, do get it checked out.

Just take a moment to ensure your home is secure when you leave it; 

In the hot weather please check your windows are locked even if they’re on trickle draught.  

If you’ve got a home security system, ensure you activate it when you leave home.  

Where possible, if you’re away from your address please ask a trusted friend or neighbour to keep an eye on it, and 

Take any measures to make it look like someone is home.
