As part of #Sceptre, Newquay Police have (yesterday) attended Tretherras School to help raise awareness of the dangers of knife crime. Officers from the Neighbourhood Team engaged with pupils and allowed them to try out one of our Knife Arches, which are designed to detect hidden weapons. PCSO Merrikin even managed to locate a pair of safety scissors on Miss Barber, who tried to sneak through undetected! In the afternoon, pupils were given an input on careers with the Police by our Youth and Missing Officer PC Hawken.
