Truro Police Cycle Patrols

PSCO Morcomb and PC Wilson were out on their e-bikes for this morning’s beat patrol. On Lemon Quay a local resident let them know about someone new sleeping rough on the quayside – the officers did a welfare check and found the chap safe and well, not homeless, but in the process of walking around Britain for a number of military and mental health charities. We wish @mhm.letstalk the very best for the rest of his epic journey. #itsgoodtotalk

Other areas covered this morning: Newham, Highertown, Penwethers, Malabar and RCHT Treliske where a young lad sitting outside commented “how are you going to catch anyone on police bikes?” PC Wilson reckoned he could catch the lad, but he wasn’t up for finding out.

Our fleet of e-bikes aren’t about emergency response but they are perfect for getting our bobbies on the beat, out and about, engaging with the community. They allow us to cover a lot more distance, in the same amount of time, than on foot patrol.
