Police investigating a serious road traffic collision in Launceston on Tuesday 4 February are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a black Yamaha motorcycle and a white Ford Transit van on Link Road, Launceston, soon after 7am.

The motorbike rider, a local man in his 20s, sustained life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital. His next of kin are aware.

The road was closed while a forensic investigation was carried out at the scene.

The road was reopened at around 2.45pm.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.
