The end of Middle Market Street at the junction of Buller Street, as shown in the photo, is not a parking space, nor a loading zone, nor a space to otherwise linger in your vehicle whilst tasks are being undertaken. It is part of the highway and therefore parking a vehicle at this location would constitute a wilful obstruction of the highway, for which any motorist can be prosecuted under the Highways Act. Vehicles left here inconvenience residents and may prevent access for emergency vehicles into a large part of residential East Looe. Devon and Cornwall Police working together with Cornwall Council Parking Enforcement are committed to addressing this issue and will not hesitate to undertake enforcement action where appropriate. Please refrain from parking at this location but instead use the parking provided elsewhere in the town, and encourage others to do likewise.
