Sentencing

Police were called by a member of the public on Log 0213 of 08/01/2025 due to an aggressive male in the Devonport area who was verbally abusing and spitting at people. Upon police attendance the male continued to be aggressive and spat at an officer and resisted arrest leading to a Devonport Neighbourhood Officer breaking her finger in 2 places. The male was charged for a number of offences and remanded to court where today he has received a 52 week prison sentence. Violent and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities, neither will assaults on Police Officers.
