Watson, of no fixed abode, admitted trying to gain entry to locked cars, stealing items from parked vehicles and using a stolen bank card. Inspector Paul Laity said: “I’d like to thank the local community for being so vigilant and reporting these incidents to us over the last week. This enabled officers to provide safety and security advice as well as additional patrols in the affected areas. As part of this we were able to secure doorbell footage as evidence, which helped us bring this case to court. “Please remember to keep your vehicle and property secure, keep any items of value out of sight and to report any suspicious behaviour to police.” You can report information to us via our website or by calling 101.
