Today Torpoint Neighbourhood Team, alongside colleagues from Saltash and Looe, carried out a road safety operation in Torpoint on Trevol Road and on the exit of the Torpoint Ferries. Operations such as this are carried out by police at all hours of the day and night with the view to targeting the 'Fatal Five' main causes of serious injuries and deaths on our region's roads. These are:

- Excess or inappropriate speed

- Not wearing a seatbelt

- Driving using your mobile phone

- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs

- Careless or inconsiderate driving
