Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision on the A3059 near Newquay.

Officers were called to the collision close to Spitfire Corner at around 9.05pm on Thursday 25 July where it was reported that a collision had occurred involving a motorcycle.

The male rider and male pillion were taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske. The rider was found to have sustained potentially life-changing injuries and was later transferred to Derriford Hospital. The pillion suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene. Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public and residents of the area for their patience whilst the road was closed.
