Police were called shortly before 12.46pm on Saturday 20 April 2024 to reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision which had occurred at Batsworthy Cross near Rackenford.

The collision involved a silver VW Golf driven by a 20-year-old male from the Exeter area and a Triumph motorcycle ridden by a 34-year-old male from the London area.

Sadly the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the VW Golf was conveyed to Derriford Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Golf was released from the scene with minor injuries.

Local officers as well as officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene and completed a forensic examination. Once completed, the road was re-opened as soon as possible.
