Serious collision, Penzance


Police were notified just before 4pm on Saturday 18 November to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a car in Penzance.

The incident happened on Chyandour Cliff at the junction for Lannoweth Road.

As a result of the collision the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to Treliske Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

Following further investigation, a third vehicle was reported to have been involved in the incident. The driver of this vehicle was arrested shortly after and has since been released under investigation.

A thorough investigation took place at the scene which meant that the road was closed approximately five hours.

Officers are aware of comments being made on social media regarding the collision and individuals they suspect to be involved and would ask that people do not speculate on social media.
