Police were notified at around 4.15am on Monday 11 September to reports of a collision on Sea View Terrace in Plymouth.

It is believed that upon exiting his car, the driver has become trapped between the car and a wall.

Emergency Services attended the scene, and the man was freed before being taken to Derriford Hospital with life changing injuries. His next of kin are aware.

Local officers as well as armed response officers attended. Once a thorough investigation had been conducted the road was re-opened.
