The Neighbourhood Police Team are asking our communities to be on the alert after a car was broken into in Bovey Tracey. The vehicle had been left in a Ashwell lane, a quiet road between Bovey Tracey and Lustleigh when the offence happened. The victim had left the car for a walk and on return found the rear driver side window broken and items taken. We are reminding all our communities not to leave valuables in an unattended vehicle ,even in the boot area. It is better to leave all valuables including purses, loose cash etc. at home, or take them with you when you leave the car. Mobile thieves are looking for vehicles parked in isolated areas to break into and take anything they can see which may be of value. Parking in a busier area cannot be a guarantee you will not be victim, but makes it less likely.
